WORDS - Work Order System

WORDS is a work order system which is able to capture, process, track and report on work orders for a range of services specified by the client. These services may include Logistical, Maintenance, Environmental and General Service Work Orders.

WORDS has the ability to track costs as well as relocate and track the movement of assets both graphically (in a CAD drawing) and at a database level.

The ability of this software to be user definable, customisable and intergratable allows it to fit in with most organisations structure, culture and operational procedures.

The system was built, tested and used extensively for the 2000 Olympic Games because "off the shelf" Work order systems were unable to integrate fully with other established systems as well as provide the flexibility required for a vastly dynamic environment such as the Olympics.

WORDS utilises the same platform and network which supports the Olympic eT.E.A.M Solutions for Space Planning, asset tracking and logistics.

• WORDS has been designed to allow dispatchers to enter information received via telephone calls capturing the required information directly onto the system.
• WORDS provides a common interface for all work order types, displaying all the information necessary for an operator to quickly capture information in a logical and easy to use format.
• The Resource Allocation screen provides the ability to allocate each work order task to an area, team, crew or individual. Filters or queries can be applied to show work orders applicable to a specific task, location or time period, or other criteria such as overdue work orders.
• The distribution process of work orders has the flexibility of being dispatched electronically (email), via telecommunication (pager, short message service, e-fax) or hard copy to the relevant parties.
• Job Costings allows costs to be associated with each work order and or sub work orders for materials, labor etc and assign the total cost of a work order to a functional area, department or contractor.
• Reports and queries are able to be produced which aid in monitoring of work order status as well as but not limited to reporting costs by functional area, department or contractor.
• WORDS has the ability to link directly with the Space Management and Asset Tracking System, allowing real time reporting for location and movement of assets.
